What a wet couple of days it has been! We hope everyone in our community has stayed safe and that the return of sunshine in the coming days, dries the area up.
It is hard to believe we are at the end of Term 1 already! Thanks, to our students for their engagement in their schooling over the term as they have settled into school routines and new year levels of learning. We particularly want to thank all of our school staff who do an amazing job supporting our students regardless of their role in the school every day! From our grounds and cleaning teams, to the office staff and our teachers and teacher aides, the difference you make to the students of Wondall is something that you should be proud of.

Last Tuesday our P&C held their Annual General Meeting to appoint the 2021 Executive. Thank you to the outgoing committee for their leadership and support of the school in 2020 and congratulations to our 2021 position holders.

Moderation
Staff are currently in the final stage of moderation for this cycle of teaching and learning. Each cohort has spent time with me sharing the assessment tasks from the term for English, Mathematics and science. It is certainly a time to celebrate the successes of our student's learning this term. Our students have worked extremely hard to achieve the results tabled at these meetings, supported with high quality teaching from our teachers. Congratulations to all!
Last week, teacher’s met in their lower and upper school teams to begin the before moderation process for our next teaching and learning cycle. Each cohort worked on unpacking the Australian Curriculum by front ending assessment and planning units of work to ensure students are exposed to a range of learning experiences.

If spectating at the morning carnival please arrive and make your way down to the oval from 8.45AM. The students will be approaching the oval from 8.55AM.
If spectating at the afternoon carnival please arrive and make your way down to the oval from 1.40PM. The students will be approaching the oval from 1.45PM. Prep students will come down a little later from their classrooms.
One spectator per child at the carnival. This is to make sure areas have plenty of room for spacing and viewing. Parents/Spectators will have two designated areas to witness the carnival.
One area will be to the right of the bottom gate entry point.
The second area will be to the left of the gate, past the sand pit, in front of the playground area.
Upon arrival all spectators will need to sign in using the Check in QLD COVID APP that will be displayed at spectator areas and as you approach the bottom gate.
Spectators will need to remain in one of the two identified areas until they leave. If you would like a chair or shade for your spectating area you will need to bring your own with you and maintain 1.5m spacing between other adults that arrive. Students will have their own defined area in the middle of the hill when not running and obviously be on track when running. Students will not be able to mingle and will not be allowed to enter either spectator area. If you are planning on coming to both carnivals you will need to leave and return for the 2nd carnival.
Please understand and support us with this process as this will be our first spectator carnival post the events of 2020.
Fingers crossed for clear weather!
