Thank You
On behalf of our entire school staff I want to thank all of our students, families, P&C and community members for your support of Wondall Heights State School in 2022. It has been a tremendous year of learning and celebrations in the school, with many great things achieved for our students.
A delayed start with COVID and severe weather, couldn’t hamper the outcomes for 2022 and we thank all of our parents, staff and community for their focus during these times.
A heartfelt thanks is extended to all members of the Wondall staff for their continued flexibility to provide high quality outcomes for our school community whilst they also experienced their own health and housing hurdles.
Year 6 Graduation
On Tuesday 6 December we will hold our Year 6 graduation for students and their nominated guests commencing at 9am. It is a ticketed event being held in our school. Following their graduation, students will head off for their end of year celebration at Bounce. We wish our graduating class well and know they will continue to ‘Strive to Excel’ in the future.
Report Cards
Student report cards will be emailed home on Wednesday 7 December. Please ensure your email address is current in the front office to receive this. admin@wondallheightsss.eq.edu.au
End of Year Celebrations
To mark the end of the school year, classes will hold their own ‘break up day’ events on Wednesday 7 December. For this, we ask that parents arrange food suitable for your own child/ren to consume. It will not be shared food.
- Parents are to pack their own ‘party box’ from home for your child to eat throughout the day- parents have control of what their child eats.
- Please note that the Tuckshop will be closed from Thursday 8 December, so parents will need to pack food for your child.
Wednesday 7 December is Free Dress- students are to wear sun safe clothing and must have a broad brim hat with closed in shoes.
Thursday/Friday students are to wear either formal or sports uniform. On these days, students will participate in end of year activities and support with clean up/moving of rooms in preparation for 2023.
At this time of the year, students like to share the Christmas cheer with their friends and they are welcome to engage in this, but we ask that only cards are given out. Please do not send lollies or confectionery eg- candy canes. We have students with a range of different food/dietary allergies and requirements and the school will not be responsible for oversight of these confectionery items.
Gifts- whilst families may like to give an end of year present as a generous thanks to staff, we do have departmental policies around these and staff cannot accept gifts in excess of $150 or any cash/lottery items.
Class Arrangements in 2023
With an anticipated enrolment of 630 students next year, we will have 27 classes. These will consist of straight classes. The teachers and leadership team have spent considerable time this term constructing classes which consider the needs of all students. A reminder that requests for a particular teacher will not be accepted.
Students will be introduced to their 2023 teachers during the ‘Step Up’ session on Wednesday 7 December. We are excited to also welcome our 2023 preps who will participate in this afternoon.

Remember to collect your child’s medication from the office before the holidays. All medication is to be collected by an adult. If your child will require medication in 2023 please check the expiry dates before bringing medications back to school and complete the required documentation for the medication to be administered.
