STUDENT LEADERS 2025
WELCOME TO TERM 4
We welcome all of our returning and new families to Term 4. This term is 11 weeks in duration with 13 December, the last day of the school year. Term 4 always goes quickly and we have lots of exciting things for our students to engage with before the 2024 school year is over. Remember to stay up to date by checking our newsletter, Facebook page and school website.
With it being an 11-week term, please be mindful of end of year dates and Week 11 being utilised as our end of term celebrations, Step Up Day and Year 6 Graduation.
SWIMMING
The pool is looking fantastic with lessons starting yesterday! Swimming will occur on your child’s normal PE day, with some adjustments around excursions and other events. All students are expected to participate in swimming lessons as it is part of the school curriculum. If your child has a medical condition preventing them swimming, please ensure a note is sent along. Parents will be notified if your child doesn’t swim. Students will need to bring the following for swimming: bathers, rash shirt, swimming cap, towel (optional: googles). During swimming sessions, we will provide for them a bright coloured cap to put over their own swimming cap to assist with easy identification in the pool.
A big thank you to all of the parents and other carers who have put their names down to help with supervision at the pool. Some people have made themselves available even when their own children aren’t swimming, to ensure no one misses out. If you are still able to help, please reach out to Mrs Butterworth via 3906 6444 or ybutt1@eq.edu.au

PBL- Wondall Learners are respectful when they recognise personal qualities and achievements.
In life we know that everyone is different and some people have strengths in certain areas eg. sports, whereas others may have strengths in academics. This fortnight we will be focusing on what strengths we have, what we may not be great at and how we can remain humble and respectful when we achieve goals in life. Currently some of our Year 5’s are beginning their journey towards leadership roles. This is a prime opportunity for them to reflect and look at their own qualities that make them a great leader.
Stay tuned for some great discussions to be had during PBL lessons.
BEFORE SCHOOL PROCESSES REMINDER
Parents, just a reminder that at Wondall we expect all students to be lining up in the Arena. Staff have been very active and asking students to join them as this is the safe, supervised area for your child to be before the bell goes at 8:45am. Teachers are busy planning their day and preparing lessons for your child. Please support us with this process as it allows for consistency and a calm start for your child. It also means no students should be playing on equipment or roaming around the school. Help us keep your kids safe.
STUDENT LEADERS 2025
Applications for 2025 closed on Friday. From here staff and Admin will go through each application, posters will go on display and then students will begin their selection process starting with those who have applied for school captains. Then we will continue through the other student leader positions. Updates will be given weekly.
A huge congratulations to all of the prospective candidates- good luck! Mrs Cocciolone.

BOOK FAIR
Book Fair will be landing in the Library next week! Classes will have the opportunity to visit Book Fair and create Wishlists on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. Students can also visit Book Fair before (8:15-8:45am) and after school (3-3:30pm), and during break times to make purchases. Parents are also welcome to visit before and after school.
Payment for the purchase of books can be made in person at Book Fair or online at scholastic.com.au/payment. Once payment has been made online, the back of the Wishlist or Book Fair flier need to be completed including the titles paid for, the receipt number, the amount paid, and contact details of the payee using blue or black pen. That payment record is then presented by students at the Book Fair, and they will receive the titles.
Some Book Fair titles are always popular, and the available stock can sell quickly. Extra copies will be ordered for students wanting to purchase them, and they usually arrive at school 1-2 weeks after Book Fair closes.
Please remember, posters and novelty items can not be paid for online and should be purchased at Book Fair. These items are also available only through Book Fair at school and cannot be ordered for delivery once they have sold out.
