UNDER EIGHT’S DAY
This Friday 16 May, our Prep-Year 2 students will be celebrating Under Eights Day with a morning of fun on the junior oval!
We have many wonderful activities planned! We have police and fire services visiting (subject to emergency call outs), along with Wondall staff, Bunnings Manly West, Dance with Kate S (one of our lovely parents), Martial Arts, Brisbane Bayside State College and our very own WOSHC providing activities. We have invited multiple local Kindergartens with the children from Busy Bees joining us for some fun this year.
One of the activities offered is temporary ‘Dougie’ tattoos. These will be administered to the hand or lower arm only. To remove the temporary tattoo, you need to soak a cotton ball or tissue in baby oil, olive oil eye make-up remover or alcohol and apply to the area to remove. Alternatively, you can apply strips of sticky tape and peel away. If you wish your child NOT to receive a temporary tattoo, please inform your child’s class teacher so we can record this on their arm bands. Arm bands will also inform us of photo permission status.
Please make your way down to the junior oval at 9:00am for a 9:10am start. Students will be able to meet you there after roll marking, to wander from activity to activity. There is an expectation that everyone has fun whilst upholding our school expectations around remaining safe, respectful and responsible at all times. The event will conclude by 10:30am with parents able to exit via the back gates between 10:30-10:45am.
*** Please note: we are watching the weather – if rain continues this week, and ground conditions are unsafe, we will need to postpone. Updates will be posted on Facebook (which can be seen on our school website).
We hope to see everyone there!
SCHOOL PHOTOS
School photos will be in Week 6, Term 2 – 27 and 28 May. Envelopes will be sent home shortly and will need to be returned on your child’s photo day. If you did not respond to the numerous requests from the school on consent update, your child will not be eligible to have their photo taken or names included. If you are unsure please contact the office as soon as possible.
YEAR 5 AND 6 CAMP INFORMATION
Parents in Years 5&6 have received via Schoolzine and paper copies additional camp information. Please ensure that you complete the required information and return to your child’s teacher by Monday 26 May. The Year 5 and 6 staff will be holding an information session for parents regarding the camp on Wednesday 4 June, 4:45-5:15pm.
