SCHOOL LEADERSHIP UPDATE

At the end of this week, I will begin a period of leave to travel to Europe. During my absence, the principal position will be shared between Mr Jonas Shantz (Weeks 7 to 9.5) and Mrs Sarah Abbot (Weeks 9.5 to 10).

Commencing on my return in Term 3, I will then begin a 12-month secondment with the wider department, where I will lead an educational stakeholder review of the current school facility design models.

I am incredibly proud of Wondall Heights State School and the direction we are heading. This pride comes from the daily interactions I witness among our ACE learners, staff, parents, and community — all of which make our school truly special. I want to sincerely thank everyone for your ongoing support and for all we have achieved together during my 4.5 years as Principal.

I am pleased to announce and welcome Mr Jonas Shantz as Principal whilst I undertake this secondment. Mr Shantz brings a wealth of leadership experience, most recently as Principal of Darra State School.

I know you will join me in warmly welcoming Mr Shantz, who is excited to be part of our wonderful school community.

I look forward to continuing to hear of Wondall’s great achievements and again, thank you for the privilege of being Wondall’s principal!

YEAR 5 AND 6 CAMP INFORMATION

Parents in Years 5&6 have received via Schoolzine and paper copies additional camp information. Please ensure that you complete the required information and return to your child’s teacher by Monday 26 May. The Year 5 and 6 staff will be holding an information session for parents regarding the camp on Wednesday 4 June 4:45-5:15pm.
