From the Principal
Welcome back to Term 3!
I trust everyone had a relaxing and rejuvenating break.
There’s certainly a lot of illness going around, and we’ve noticed it at school. If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them home in line with the Time Out guidelines—this helps keep everyone healthy. At school, we’re encouraging extra handwashing, the use of hand sanitiser, and regular classroom cleaning to support student wellbeing.
Term 2 was a big one! I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sarah Abbott and the entire staff team who rallied together in the final weeks to ensure everything came together smoothly. We wrapped up the term with Report Cards going home, NAIDOC celebrations, interschool sport, Year 5 and Year 6 camps, and all the usual end-of-term activities. We also enjoyed a fantastic Athletics Carnival and assembly where we celebrated our sporting achievements—thank you to Mrs Butterworth for all the organisation that made the day such a success!
By now, you should have had a chance to review your child’s report card. Identifying improvement goals in English and Mathematics and discussing them with your child helps to align school and home efforts towards a shared goal of progress and achievement.
NAPLAN results were also sent home last week. It's a good opportunity to reflect—how do your child’s NAPLAN results compare to their report card?
There’s much to celebrate in Semester 1 regarding student achievement and attendance. The table below shows the percentage of students achieving a C or higher in English and Mathematics, as well as those achieving a B or higher. This tells us we’re tracking well, while also highlighting areas for growth—particularly in embedding Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum and continuing our Reading Improvement agenda.
