OUR P&C BRINGS THE OUTDOOE LEARNING AREA TO LIFE!

Over the past few years, our amazing and dedicated Wondall P&C, together with the families of our school community, have worked tirelessly to raise funds to transform the space beside our library into a vibrant and functional area now known as the Outdoor Learning Area.

While the name is only temporary, the space offers so many opportunities for students to gather - for class lessons, small-group activities, quiet reading, or outdoor performances.

Under Mark Wright’s principalship, a plan was developed that reflected both student and community voice, and it’s been wonderful to see that vision come to life. We’ve identified the need for shade covering and will be putting the finishing touches on in the next few months.

We are so proud to see students already enjoying the space! In the coming weeks, we’ll celebrate with an official opening and naming ceremony.

Here are some photos of students exploring the new area!

SWIMMING LESSONS ARE UNDERWAY!

SWIMMING.png

It's great to see students back in the pool! Lessons run on each class’s usual PE day, with minor adjustments for excursions and events. As part of the curriculum, all students are expected to participate unless a medical note is provided.

Students need bathers, rash shirt, swimming cap, towel, and (optional) goggles. This year, the school is funding additional teacher aides to support safety and learning in the pool.

A big thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers! If you can assist, please contact Mrs Butterworth at 3906 6444 or ybutt1@eq.edu.au

2025 SCHOOL SURVEY RESULTS

Thank you to everyone who completed our 2025 School Opinion Survey. The attached infographic highlights some of the most positive results from each group, reflecting the strong learning culture and positive environment that make Wondall such a great place to learn and work.

These results will help guide our school improvement work as we move into 2026. We always value feedback and suggestions - you can share these via admin@wondallheightsss.eq.edu.au, by phoning 3906 6444, or by joining a P&C meeting.

PREPARATION FOR 2026

Planning for the 2026 school year is well underway. At this time of year, our teaching team works carefully to prepare class structures and staffing based on projected enrolments. A range of factors are considered in this process, including class sizes, student needs, ability balance, and maintaining positive learning and social groupings. We are committed to ensuring that every student has a friend in their class of their choosing, thanks to the program Class Solver that we will be trailing this year.

If your family is moving and your child will not be attending Wondall Heights State School in 2026, please notify the school office as soon as possible. Likewise, if you know of a family who has recently moved into our catchment area, please encourage them to enrol as soon as they can.

Accurate enrolment numbers help us to plan effectively and ensure the best possible start for all students next year.

Kind Regards

Jonas Shantz
