Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first scientists, first diplomats, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists and first artists. NAIDOC week 2020 theme, Always Was, Always Will Be, was chosen to encourage Australians to celebrate the wealth of cultures and knowledge’s that existed prior to Captain Cook’s arrival in Australia. The occasion of the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook’s voyages to Australia in 2020 is an opportunity to encourage Australians to consider what the continent was like before Cook’s arrival, colonisation by the British. Always Was, Always Will Be elevates this continuity of cultural knowledge and practices as things all Australians can be proud of and celebrate together.

Teachers will ran their own NAIDOC activities between Tuesday 10th Nov and Friday 14th November.  Each year level completed a different class activity.

Year Level Moderation

Next week staff will be participating in our moderation process for Term 4. Moderation is a process where teachers compare judgements to either confirm or adjust them. The process involves close collaboration to establish a shared understanding of what student achievement across a variety of standards looks like. Teachers work towards marking judgements that are consistent and comparable.
