2021 CROSS COUNTRY WRAP
Thankyou to all staff that helped to make this carnival happen. We are a lucky school that offers carnivals right down to our Prep students and that is due to the many hands that accept a role often after a brief explanation and fulfil it to the best of their ability. It also is down to the ambition to make it happen so that our students experience moments to remember from their early school years building resilience, character and teamwork along the way.

Our top three students in 10s, 11s and 12s have continued training to represent Wondall at the Bayside District Cross Country Carnival. I look forward to reporting on their results after that carnival as well. All the best to those students representing our school on May 6.
INTERSCHOOL SPORT
A reminder for spectators to please ask our staff when you arrive at sport venues about checking in and spectator areas. We need to still contact trace and social distance at this stage and it is very important for our competitions to continue. Without this process, we would have to implement no spectators or cancel the competitions. Thank you for understanding and your continued support of our staff with this would be greatly appreciated.
As for draws all sports are very difficult to comprehend. This is why we don’t post them. Draws tend to update from time to time and it can get rather confusing. All sports run from 12.20 – 2.40pm at the various venues. If spectating aim for those times. Do not call the office admin to find out game times as they will only be able to mention the above. Teaching staff will do their best to mention game times to the students throughout the week on the basis of draw updates and students can relay this home.
Venues:
Netball: Gumdale State School (Enter via Formosa Rd path)
Volleyball: Manly West State School (Enter via Greta St)
Rugby League: Kitchener Park, Stradbroke Ave – Scan QR code at venue to check in and out
Boys Soccer: Iona College, North Rd
Girls Soccer: At our school senior oval, (Enter via Bottom Carpark near Tennis/Netball courts) – Scan our QR code to check in.
Students must travel back and be released from school by their teachers. If your student has an important need to leave with you as a spectator from venue i.e. appointment etc. this requires admin approval, at latest, the day before in the form of a written, signed note from the adult who will be taking the student from the venue. This will appear as an early departure with the reason noted in attendance records.
