Year 4 First Contact Excursion with Moreton Bay Environmental Education Centre
Last Wednesday, on 26/05/2021, my class went to Moreton Bay Environmental Education Centre for our excursion First Contact. We learnt about the story of Mr Thompson, Mr Pamphlet, and Mr Finnigan. We were also introduced to how Aboriginals used to survive and what weapons they used/made from natural resources. We made huts and fire, looked at Aboriginal artwork and even learnt how to throw spears without accidently hitting your head or ear. We learnt how children from the past were punished for being naughty and finally how we do things differently today.
