Thank You Cleaners and Facilities Staff
A huge thank you to our cleaning and facilities team who we recognised last week for their work in our school. We have beautiful grounds and clean classrooms thanks to this team of workers who work behind the scenes to keep our school shining, hygienic and ready for learning to occur!
Reports
Semester 1 Reports will be emailed home to parents next Wednesday (23/06/21) to your nominated email address held by the office. If you do not receive it by Thursday please first check your junk folder and then call the office if still not located.
When reviewing your child’s report, it is important to focus on their effort and also behaviour grade as this will give you an indication of their engagement in the subject area. Also note that ‘C’ grade means your child is working at the appropriate standard for their year level.
Year 5 Camp
We wish our Year 5 students well on their camp next week to Currumbin Valley. We look forward hearing of their adventures.
Under 8’s Day
We are holding our Under Eights Celebration on 24 June for our Prep-Year 2 students. Parents and younger siblings are welcome to attend but must sign in via the QR code located throughout the event.
In lieu of face painting this year due to COVID, we will be offering temporary tattoos of our Dougie mascot. Should you wish for your child not to have a temporary tattoo applied during the Under Eights session, please contact your child’s teacher prior to the day.
If parents hold any special skills or can offer an activity for the celebration, please contact P-2 Deputy Principal, Sarah Abbot on sabbo6@eq.edu.au .
Term 3 Dates
Have a wonderful break with your children and we look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday 12 July.
Prep 2022
Notice of Intention to Attend Wondall Heights State School in 2022
We are currently looking at Wondall Heights State School’s planning needs for the 2022 school year. Part of this planning is considering the number of students we will have enrolled in the school. If your child is of Prep age for the 2022 school year and you are considering enrolling your child at Wondall Heights State School, can you please let us know by contacting our school office. This expression of interest is not binding, school catchment area and enrolment requirements still apply.Expressions of interest to enrol at Wondall assists us with forward planning to make 2022 as successful as possible for all our students. The enrolment process will begin in Term 3.
Enrolment Process
In catchment students can currently enrol at the office during office opening hours.
Out-of-catchment students can join the waiting list, please contact the office.
A decision will be made for out-of-catchment enrolments in early Term 3, you will be invited to attend the Prep Enrolment Sessions in September if you are successful in securing a place at Wondall Heights State School.
Prep Enrolment Sessions will consist of a group interview where parents will be presented with information and asked to fill in questionnaires whilst their children interact with our teachers, in a group setting. The new format is designed to create a sense of community and for children and families to meet and establish connections in preparation for 2022. This format will also allow our staff to spend more time getting to know your children and to observe their interactions with other children. More information about this process will be provided to families next term when booking an interview.
Please share this information with family and friends living in the catchment area!
