Book Fair is coming!
Following Book Week this week, we will continue to celebrate our love of reading with Book Fair next week from 31 August to 6 September. Keep an eye out for the flyer coming home today.
Due to the current situation with COVID uncertainty and the difficulty ensuring social distancing in the Book Fair display area, we will not be having our Book Fair open to parents and carers this year.
Children will visit the Book Fair display with their class on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday next week. During their visit, they will fill out a wish list for books they are interested in, and bring their list home to share and discuss with you.
Books can then be purchased online and collected from Book Fair by the children. Information on how to do this will come home via an email to parents.
When making a purchase online through the Scholastic Book Fair website, you will be given a receipt number which you record on your child’s wish list along with the books you have paid for. Children then return their wish list with the receipt number from Scholastic to the Book Fair in the library and they will be given their book/s to bring home.
Children will be able to make payments by cash for novelty items and books before school or during lunch breaks. To minimise cash handling in the interests of health and safety, if you are sending cash for purchases please endeavour to send your child with the correct amount.
As part of our Book Fair we will be running a colouring competition for all children with a prize per year level of a $10 voucher to spend at Book Fair. Entries will need to be returned to school on Monday morning (30 August) clearly labelled with name and class of the entrant. Four students across the school will also win a $10 voucher in our Book Fair Scavenger Hunt competition run during their class visits to Book Fair. Vouchers will need to be used at the Book Fair, they can not be redeemed for online purchases.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
The Premier’s Reading Challenge ends this Friday. 68 children have handed their competed records in to the office. A special shout out to Prep A, every child in the class has completed the challenge!
Completed record forms must be returned to the school office by Monday 30 August for children to receive a certificate from the Premier for their super reading effort.
