PBL Focus Term 3  Weeks 3 and 4 - RESPONSIBLE

Our PBL focus for this week is, ‘Wondall Learners are responsible for their own belongings as well as school equipment’.

The objective of this focus is to teach the importance of, and increase student awareness and capabilities around, being responsible for their own belongings as well as school equipment.

Students watched videos about the importance of respecting property and being organised.

Discussions were held about:

• What can students DO every day at school to be prepared, be tidy and respect equipment?
• What are the benefits to being Responsible for your own equipment, as well as school equipment?
• If we are Responsible for our own belongings as well as school equipment what may happen?
• Is ‘at school’ the only place you need to be Responsible for your own belongings, as well as respecting others’ equipment?

Students were invited to suggest ideas about what BEING PREPARED, TIDY and RESPECTFUL OF EQUIPMENT looks like. They collated their ideas onto a poster which will be displayed in a visible position in the classroom for their reference.

Finally, students wrote or drew GOALS for the term on strategies to develop skills to assist in being RESPONSIBLE for personal belongings and school equipment.

Teachers will be rewarding students with DOUBLE DOUGIES when they are seen to be being RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN BELONGINGS AS WELL AS SCHOOL EQUIPMENT.
