PBL Focus Weeks 5 and 6 – Wondall Learners are SAFE when playing with others.

Students are learning the importance of safety during play. They are encouraged to take accountability for their actions in the playground and recognise others’ reactions to types of play.

They will discuss the perspectives of others by first recognising their own feelings in different situations.

Students will construct a class list of strategies to ensure safe play for all including:

• establishing clear rules before game commences
• looking at others’ facial expressions and body language to ensure others’ well being
• saying sorry if play has accidentally become rough
• using Zones of Regulation strategies if you move into yellow zone
• be aware of others’ zones
• use kind words
• allow all friends to play
• ask for adult help if required
