Synthetic Phonics Update

Last week six of our wonderful teachers made the trek to Jindalee for four days and completed their Sounds-Write training. They returned to us full of excitement and eager to try out their new learning. We can’t wait to see it in action in their classrooms, engaging students daily in decoding and encoding!

Library Update

Over the last several months, thanks to a generous donation from our P&C, we have worked hard to make our Library an inviting place for students. We are now working on purchasing new books for our students to borrow. All students are encouraged to borrow books during their class borrowing time.

Borrowing takes place during class time with the class teacher or a regular specialist teacher. Occasionally our younger students return their books directly to a shelf, rather than following the class process for having the books returned. Please remind your child that when they borrow a book, they need to have a grown up return it using the computer in the library and then a staff member will reshelve it.

In recent weeks, students with overdue books borrowed in Term 1 were given final overdue notices. If your child received one of these notices, please support them to locate their book and return it to the library. Invoices for Term 1 overdue books still not returned will be generated next week. Students are not able to borrow from our Library whilst they have overdue loans.
