School Review Key Affirmation Sharing

We look forward to sharing our key affirmations with the community from our recent school review. There is so much to be proud of, with the educational opportunities available at our school.

Staff, students and parents express a strong sense of pride and belonging in their school.

Positive and caring relationships are valued by staff, students and parents. Parents acknowledge positive interactions with staff. They comment favourably on the relationship between home and school and opportunities to be genuine partners in their child’s learning. Many parents express pride in the positive reputation the school has earned within the local community. Staff proudly share anecdotes of significant progress in students’ learning and levels of engagement. They discuss a shared understanding of the importance of developing rapport with each student and ‘knowing their learners’ and how this leads to improved outcomes. Students comment that staff are caring and ‘know what we need’.

Colour Run

There are only a few days left of fundraising or to book your child’s (or adult) participation in the Colour Run to be held next Thursday!!! Please dig deep as all funds raised go towards our students. There are great prizes for fundraisers and don’t forget the 5 top fundraisers also get to ‘slime’ Mr Wright!

Our P&C are always looking at fundraising ideas for our school, if a colour run isn’t a preferred activity and you have some other suggestions, please get involved and share these with the P&C. Tuesday night 29/8 at 6pm is the next meeting and all are welcome.

Book Week Dress Up Day

A big thankyou to all students and staff that made the effort to dress up on the day!

Our classes have done a fabulous job of creating canvases related to the Book Week Theme of Read, Grow, Inspire to turn our Library into an Art Gallery! Each class had their own creative flair and ideas to make their canvas stand out. Don’t forget to pop into the Library to see our great gallery.

Before and After School Procedures

A reminder of our before and after school procedures.

  • Students arriving at school before 8:30am are to wait outside the office. At 8:30am, they will move under the direction of a staff member to the Arena and wait here until released to their class line up areas.
  • Students are NOT to wait outside classrooms, play on playground equipment or join with WOSHC unless they are booked in.
  • At the end of the school day, students are encouraged to promptly leave the school grounds.
  • Playgrounds are NOT to be used before or after school - these are part of WOSHC facilities at these times.

Thanks for your support of these procedures.

Personal Items at School

At school, we do not support students bringing items from home to school, unless they are explicitly asked for use in classrooms, which staff will advise.

This includes (as an example):

  • Toys
  • Sporting equipment
  • Playing/Trading Cards
  • Lego
  • Games
  • Electronic devices (these are to be signed in at the office on arrival at school and collected at 3pm)
  • Non-school uniform clothing items

During breaks, students have access to appropriate school resources to decrease personal items being lost, damaged or behaviour incidents.
